Main Duties of Panchayat Health-Education Standing Committee
Supervise public health activities, immunization programs and sanitation activities in the panchayat.
Evaluate the functioning of health institutions like primary health centers and sub-centres and make recommendations for their improvement.
Review public health issues including drinking water supply, sanitation and waste management.
Coordinate activities related to epidemic control, immunization and health awareness programs.
Monitor the activities of pre-primary, primary and upper primary educational institutions in the panchayat.
Make recommendations for raising the standard of education and improving learning facilities for students.
Assess matters related to school infrastructure development, hygiene and safety.
Lead literacy activities, continuing education programs, and educational incentive programs.
Monitor student health, nutrition and school health programs.
Evaluate the implementation and progress of government schemes in health and education sectors.
Perform other duties related to health and education as assigned by the Panchayat Samiti.
